Terms of use
Last updated 31 August 2026
These terms cover your use of SelfDeck at selfdeck.app. By creating an account you agree to them. We've tried to write them in plain language rather than boilerplate.
Your account
You sign in with a link sent to your email address. There is no password. Anyone with access to your inbox can therefore sign in as you, so keep your email secure. You need to be old enough to form a contract where you live, and at least 13.
One person, one account. Don't impersonate someone else or create a deck that presents itself as a real person who isn't you.
Your content
Everything you write into a section or deck stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, and to show it to the people you choose to share it with.
You are responsible for what you put in a deck and who you share it with. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share, and remember that anyone who can open a link can copy what they see.
Sharing
A deck is private until you publish it. When you publish, anyone holding one of that deck's links can view it, subject to any password or expiry you set. We can't control what someone does with a link once you send it to them. A link can be forwarded, and a page can be screenshotted.
You can unpublish a deck or revoke an individual link at any time, which stops that link working from then on.
Acceptable use
Don't use SelfDeck to:
- harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone;
- share someone else's personal information without their consent;
- post unlawful content, or content you have no right to post;
- attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other people's decks.
We may suspend or remove an account that does these things. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why.
Availability
SelfDeck is provided as-is. We don't promise it will always be available or free of faults, and we may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your content.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of SelfDeck. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Ending it
You can delete your decks at any time from within the app, or ask us to delete your account entirely. We may end your access if you break these terms.
Changes
If we make a material change to these terms we'll say so on this page and update the date above. Continuing to use SelfDeck after a change means you accept it.
